Week 1, Day 1 – Starting weight
Weight: 195
And we begin. I plan to keep stats on weight and body measurements, and will update them on this blog either weekly or monthly. Still working out the logistics of that.
During this phase of my journey, I will focus on the concepts developed by Jon Gabriel, and will be following what he calls the Gabriel Method.
My first day went well. Food included yogurt, milk, chicken, spinach, protein shake, a mixed salad containing beets, tomato, cucumber, chick peas, lettuce, olives, and a few other ingredients. The beet juice was flavorful enough that I didn’t need salad dressing. I ate some other stuff, too. No need to list it all here.
As you will learn, the Gabriel Method is not a diet. This means that I don’t have to eliminate any foods. If I crave something, I will have it. If I want a lot of it, I will have a lot. The important thing is to first feed my body, give it the nutrients that it needs. Beyond that, I can have whatever I like. I love that about this plan!
The only exercise I got today was at the laundromat. By the time all the clothes were washed, dried, folded and hung, my back was complaining pretty loudly. I was on my feet for most of it. Tomorrow will be housecleaning day, so I’ll get plenty of exercise there. (Getting this blog going meant postponing many of the daily chores, so tomorrow will be catch up day.)
